Yellowish (DK), Ridehuset, 3 June
- Four strong individualists found a perfect match in each other as Yellowish gave a concert af freshly interpreted, shoe gazing beauty.

By Pelle Sonne Lohmann. Translation: Martin Buck. Photo: Toke Hage.

During their career the band has changed members and forms of expression quite a few times. With their second album out and an extraordinary gig in Ridehuset, the search seems over and the transformation completed in the best possible way.

Laura Noszczyk has taken over from the earlier front man and founder of the band, Aage Hedensted, who’s solo project, Slowburn, is also worth checking out. The duets between the two have changed: Noszczyk does well in front with her smooth voice as Aage is "degraded" to fill in small, vocal intermezzos. Still he is in the centre of Yellowish' expressivity with his aggressively nuanced guitars, that moves between attacks and dreams.

When Yellowish re-interprets their older material as impressively as they did on this 12th SPOT festival, even old fans must accept that their earlier focus on guitarbased shoe gazer has been replaced by a more subtle, synth based expression which is dominated by a vocally more ambiguous appeal.

Check out the songs, "This Is My Direction" and danish indie classic, "Lisa Could Die For Elvis". Sometimes their songs touches the anonymous, but as this concert clearly demonstrated the diversity has always been a trademark for Yellowish.
