- Volbeat had no problem meeting the expectations that comes inevitable with receiving the reward for Best Danish Metal Debut.

The charismatic singer and guitarist Michael Poulsen and the rest of the energetic band went from strength to strength with the biggest hits from their highly praised album ”The Strength / The Sound / The Songs”.
Their metallic rock ’n’ roll with inspiration from the melodic compositions of the sixties reached climax when the Elvis-like ballad ”Soulweeper” was cut in half, making place for the meanest riff from the classic Slayer hit ”Raining Blood” followed by Volbeat’s own 1. single ”Caroline Leaving”. The audience clearly appreciated the intensity which filled the air, along with the crowd surfing guitarist Franz who wanted to give a little back to the head bangers up in the front.
People going to this years Roskilde Festival at the end of the month have a lot to look forward to, when Volbeat enters the stage, if the band can deliver a show just half as breathtaking as the one on this years SPOT Festival. |
