Mugison (IS) - Musikhuset, 2 June
- The highly original songs and his worn down guitar spells "singer-songwriter". However this is does not describe, what went on i circus Mugison in Musikhuset at a concert, that ended in standing ovations.

After playing solo for 50 people at Spot 2004, and again solo for an ecstatic crowd at Roskilde Festival 2005, Mugison was back with a full backing band, in a full Musikhuset. The fine, highly original songs and his worn down guitar spells "singer-songwriter", but this is does not cover this circus Mugison. The heavy and harsh electronic "Sad as a Truck" was the uncompromising intro to a concert which underlined than the unexpected is what you can expect. The band supported Mugison excellently, and particularly the drummer helped to define the diverse more sharply.

The band was lined up around the perimeter of the stage, facing Mugison rather than the audience, as satellites orbiting a centre of gravity. Constantly on the verge of stumbling, underplaying Mugison nearly got the comfortably seated audience rising from their chairs in Musikhuset, where in terms of rock-music, the excellent sound quality is somewhat balanced by its paralysing comfort.

The band and Mugison’s various friends helped to create an unpredictable but relaxed flow during the concert. During one of Mugison’s calm and rather time-consuming tunings of the guitar, the drummer stepped down from his kit to do an absurd, hard-to-describe gesture. Somehow these interruptions and circus acts contributed to the overall impression of this wonderful Icelandic circus.

Overall the blues-repertoire entertained more than it impressed; the electronic, experimenting and subdued songs were the highpoints of the concert, as in the studio productions. A fine concert by a truly original artist.
