Laleh (SE), Svalegangen, 3 June
- What’s wrong with envying the magnificent flowers in your neighbour’s garden? Some times you just have to.

By Anne Ingevold. Translation: Rasmus Elm Rasmussen. Photo: Mikkel Stenbæk.

This is Lalehs first appearance in Denmark and clearly a concert that many has been looking forward to, especially after “Live Tomorrow” has been a massive hit on the national Danish radio. The 23 year old Swede with Persian roots is a talented and wide ranging singer. Although the room is packed, you’re standing with a feeling that she’s singing for you alone. When she is standing on stage she’s just as gentle and mellow as she is reckless and full of power, and you’re impressed by the depth that both her music and her lyrics, which are delivered with a soul and a compassion that is seldom seen in such a young artist, posses.

That Laleh knows her stuff was well proved this evening. Despite sound-issues great enough to knock any well composed concert out of bounce, at no point she lost connection with the audience. The girl is here to entertain and it’s a task she doesn’t take lightly. Bad sound couldn’t mess up that overall picture. Laleh is what you’d normally call a multi artist, but more important is the fact that she is the type of girl who steals the picture – but without overshadowing anybody.
