- When Gluecifer left the throne of the Norwegian kingdom of rock last year, the Norwegians have been looking for a worthy replacement. Enter Brut Boogaloo.

After not setting up their instruments until they were actually supposed to be playing, the band played a gig a wee bit on the dull side. The songs were trimmed down and direct, with out challenging neither the audience nor the band. It was rock by numbers, pleasantly freed from post modern whining, but never the less I found myself missing some kind of variation, even in this quite short show case.
Brut Boogaloo gave us bits of what they can do, but didn’t do much of it on the night. Through out the set, we still got small sparks of pure rock energy, but not nearly enough to reach salvation. The princes were here for a while, but no new king was found. |
