Blue Foundation (DK/UK/JP), Musikhuset, 2 June
- In terms of live performance the former artist collective was guiding their audience on a dangerous balance between indifferent noice and sensitivity.

A lot has happened for Blue Foundation since they emerged on the Cophenhagen scene six years ago. And because they are pushing their limits, they are still the best, Danish triphop band, evn though we went beyond the limits that the listener would expect from listening to the ep and their two albums.

The soft and harmonic triphop has been replaced by an exploration of force, which was evident and well performed in Musikhuset. Even the songs from the more rugged and beat-oriented album “Sweep of Days” were performed with additional noisy heaviness, as the 7-8 persons on stage ventured into introvert shoe gazer and white noise in a variation of heavy grooves and samples and distorted guitars to bruise the melody lines introduced by the trumpet.


Some of the sensitivity and variation, that initially made the Blue Foundation a big hit in Denmark, is lost in the difficult balance between brute auditive force, organic beats and sterile noise. It gives the music an essential sense of struggle, which works very well together with the fact, that both the older and the new melodic material is strong enough to endure the experiments.
