VisitAarhus and the SPOT Festival - represented above by Tina Jensen and Silvia Iren Tofte respectively - have jointly developed the combo ticket for this year's SPOT Festival, the purpose of which is to attract music enthusiasts from Norway and Copenhagen to come to Århus.

Both Norwegians and Copenhageners should have a much better and more manageable means of going to the SPOT Festival in Århus. With that goal in mind, VisitAarhus and ROSA – The Danish Rock Council now collaborate to make combined transport-accommodation-festival tickets for this year's festival on June 2-3. And at a special price.
It means that music-craving Norwegians can get a combined plain trip, two nights accommodation, and a ticket to the festival at prices from 2.050.- dependent on which of the three hotel/hostel packages you pick.
This year, the Copenhagen audience gets a special offer as well: bus ticket for Abildskou Busser, two nights accommodation, and festival tickets at prices from 1.095.- dependent on choice of accommodation.
- The repertoire of the SPOT Festival appeals to audiences knowledgeable in music in ALL the Nordic countries. It is thus only natural to advance the means facilitating the audience's access to the festival. Initially with a focus on two of the Nordic capitals, Oslo and Copenhagen, says manager of ROSA – The Danish Rock Council and the SPOT Festival, Gunnar Madsen and he continues:
- I am pleased about the co-operation with VisitAarhus. I think it's great when organizations in Århus are willing to further the interests of the city.
VisitAarhus director of tourism, Jørgen Hansen says: - We have gladly joined the collaboration, because the availability of the combo transport-accommodation-festival tickets is very consistent with the tourism strategy of VisitAarhus up to 2010, says the tourist director and elaborates on the background of the collaboration:
The SPOT packages are VisitAarhus' world premiere in the area

- We want to make Århus more available to tourists – we will achieve this by making package deals in relation to exciting events in the city. It is a new thing. The package deal for SPOT is our world premiere in this area. Just like we would like to further the position of Aarhus as an event city – and, in that sense, SPOT is an obvious choice, says the director who continues:
- In general, we focus on aligning the activities of VisitAarhus with Århus' three brand characteristics, which are knowledge, pulse and roots – and if SPOT is not pulse, I wouldn't know what else to call it, says Jørgen Hansen who is happy that the collaboration has a Norwegian angle, since Norway is a high-priority market to VisitAarhus.
Both the SPOT Festival and VisitAarhus hope that the collaboration will continue and that it will advance in the future.
The combo tickets from Oslo and Copenhagen alike have been made available in a co-operation with the music magazine GAFFA and are sold via www.gaffabillet.dk/spot |
