Drawing on the band Vírelai, Danish/Faroese Valravn mixes old yet electrically amplified instruments like hurdy gurdy, mandola, shawm, and big davul drums with sounds and beats from electronic percussion and samples. The result is both beautiful, Nordic medieval ballads with Anna Katrin Egilstrød's vocals as the focal point and gripping instrumental dance music.
